Martha Delilah Hall was the daughter of John Hall and Delilah Crawford who came to Collin County, Texas from Meigs County, Tennessee. Martha was probably born in Meigs County.
Martha's first marriage was to William Amos Lovelady on 22 March 1861 in Collin County, Texas and they had one son, Jesse Franklin Lovelady. William died serving in the Confederate States Army in Arkansas about 1862. His parents, James Lovelady and Eureth Elizabeth Lewis were Collin County Pioneers.

On 25 January 1866, Martha married the second time in Collin County to William Basil Brown. This couple had three sons: John Thomas Brown, Samuel Phillip Brown, and James William Brown.
William Basil Brown died between 1873 and 1878 and is buried in Collin County.
Martha died in Bowie, Montague County and according to the Mortuary Warrant she was buried in the Vashti Cemetery in Clay County, Texas. No gravestone has been located.
