Georgia Patricia Boevers Spitler, 86, was born at her home on a farm near Union City, a small rural town near Oklahoma City on March 25, 1929. She entered Heaven’s gates on February 21, 2016. A consummate mother and homemaker, Georgia was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and for families of deceased members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, OK. Georgia had an unwavering faith in God. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in OKC and most recently Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Carrollton, GA.
Over the years, she had become very involved with the church and assisted with providing the sacrament of Eucharist to the sick and homebound of her parish. She also used time with her husband Cleatis to work for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. There, they provided financial aid and the generous fruits of the spirit to the poor and needy of their local community. Her devotion to the Mass and the rosary has inspired the angels to greet her into heavenly victory. Her devotion was inspired by her belief in God the Father, Jesus His Son and the Holy Spirit.
Georgia was predeceased by her loving husband of greater than fifty years, Cleatis I. Spitler . She was also predeceased by her sisters Lucy Boevers, Juliette Williford, Agnes Patzack and Helen Spitler as well as her brothers, Albert, Ted and Bob. Georgia is survived by her son Charles Robert Spitler and his wife Terry who she referred to as her “daughter.” She is also survived by two grandsons and their wives, Matthew and Kalyn Spitler, and Jeremy and Morgan Spitler.
The Spitlers invite family and friends to a funeral Mass to celebrate her life with Christ. Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Parish at 12 noon.
