ARTHUR WOLFSEN DIES SUDDENLY IN STRATFORD

Stratford (Kings Co.), July 18 -- Arthur Henry Wolfsen, 49, a widely known Stratford grain grower, died suddenly of a heart attack in his home at midnight last night.

L.M. Stone of Hanford, Tulare Lake Reclamation District manager, said today he spent most of yesterday with Wolfsen and that the latter complained of not feeling well.

Wolfsen had dinner in a local cafe last night and complained his heart was bothering him. He went home alone and was found lying on the floor of the living room shortly before midnight by his son, Norman, who called Dr. Benjamin Pratt of Lemoore.

Dr. Pratt and young Wolfsen raised the stricken man onto a bed and the doctor administered a heart stimulant, but it proved of no avail, Wolfsen dying at 12:05 A.M.

Wolfsen, a native of Merced, came to the Stratford district in 1926. He was a member of the Masonic and Elks Lodges in Modesto, of the Scottish Rite Lodge in Fresno and the San Francisco Shrine Club.

Surviving him besides his son, Norman, are a daughter, Gertrude, Berkeley; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Hopkins, Modesto; his father, Peter K. Wolfsen, Cathey Valley, Mariposa County, and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the Peoples Undertaking Parlors in Hanford. The place of burial has not been determined.
