Fred L. Crosby, 87, a Spokane-area resident for 73 years, died this morning at a hospital here. Born in St. Cloud, Minn., Mr. Crosby was a logger in this region for many years. He made his home in the Mead district.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marie Page and Dorothy Crosby, both of Spokane; two sons, Harry Vanitte, Anchorage, Alaska, and James Crosby, Reno, Nev.; nine grandchildren and a brother.
The body is at Hazen & Jaeger's.

1906 marriage record says he was born at Rice, Minnesota. Many family trees say he was born in Brockway, Stearns, Minnesota (just across the Mississippi River from Rice!), which makes sense because the family moved there around that time. However, looking at Stearns County Birth records, nothing is found for Fred Crosby.
