Phillip, 48, 204 W. Wiggs St., Fort Recovery, died at 10:55 p.m., at Mercer County Community Hospital. Death was due to natural causes.

He was born in Middletown, to Edward and Catherine (Creekmur) Ahlers. His father survives in Burkettsville. On March 28, 1981, he married Carolyn R. Wood, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Theresa Walters, Celina, and Laura, Fort Recovery; a brother, James (Brenda), Fort Recovery; a sister, Kim (Michael) Tracey, Celina; and a grandchild.

Deceased is a son, Phillip C.

He was employed at Wenning's Poultry and formerly at Wendel Poultry, both in Fort Recovery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 101st Airborne and the Ohio National Guard. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Fort Recovery.

Services were at the church, the Rev. Dennis Kelley officiating. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date.
