Edward R. Hedtke, 85, Oshkosh, died Thursday afternoon in Omro Care Center.

He was born Dec. 4, 1901, in Oshkosh, the son of August and Augusta Rieve Hedtke. He married Rose Marten Oct. 27, 1923. She died Aug. 7, 1958. He married Mary Vaughn Aug. 20, 1966, in Oshkosh.

Mr. Hedtke was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He had been employed at Waite Carpet Co. until his retirement.

Surviving are his widow; four daughters, Jane Hedtke, Mrs. James (Elaine) Christilaw, Marjorie Hedtke and Mrs. Phillip (Betty) Williams, all of Oshkosh; four sons, Robert, Larsen, Donald and Dennis, both of Oshkosh, and Gerald, Freedom; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-granchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Seefeld Church Avenue Chapel, the Rev. Clarence Koepsell officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church Avenue Chapel Sunday from noon until the time of services.
