He was born November 7, 1937 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Wilburn Bryant "Webb" and Sarah Roberts Crawford.
Gene was baptized into Christ at the age of 21. He married Arlene Jenkins Crawford on August 26, 1961 in Flippin, Arkansas.
Gene is survived by his wife, Arlene, his children and their spouses: Karen Crawford Simpson, Jeff and Rhonda Crawford, Marcus and Amanda Crawford, Andy and Delora Crawford, Kirk and Shannon Delk. Grandchildren: Jordan, Audra, Reese, Andrea, Hannah, Halle, Brayden and Jeremiah. Siblings and their spouses: Bertie Varner, Ed and Edna Crawford, William and Nora Crawford, Willis and Betty Ann Crawford, Ray and Connie Crawford and Betty Golden, as well as one aunt, Nellie Davis and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Gertie Dewey and Dovie Acklin.
Gene loved to work the farm with his father as a child. He went to work as a teen to help support the family during hard times. He served in the Army National Guard and the United States Air Force. He was a retired truck driver. Gene had a strong faith in God, a deep love for his family and a passion for horses. He was a member of the Bellefonte Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. with the funeral services on Friday at 10 a.m., both being held at the Bellefonte Church of Christ building under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home. Burial immediately following at the Kirby Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
