The funeral was held Dec. 1, 2009, at Holly Spring Friends Meeting, where he was a member, with the Rev. Todd Brown and the Rev. Ricky Sessoms officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
He was a Randolph County native, retired owner of J.H. Macon & Co. and was retired from Klaussner Furniture.
Surviving are his wife, Elna Weavel Macon; daughters, Deborah Macon Rich of Ramseur, Cynthia Macon Hall of Asheboro and Teresa Macon of Lexington; son, Ronald Macon of Chesapeake, Va.; brother, Raeford Macon of Asheboro; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
