Alvah H. Walker
Alvah H. Walker of Bunker Hill, a man well known in the town of Oswego and many in this city, died at his home at Bunker Hill in the town of Oswego on Saturday evening. He has not been strong for several years, and for some time past has been out of health, so that his life for weeks past was despaired of by his friends.
Mr. Walker was the only son of the late Alvah Walker, one of the early residents of the town of which for many years he was a well known citizen. He was born at the homestead in 1833, and was consequently fifty seven years of age.
Mr. Walker was a member of the 184th regiment, Col. Robinson, N. Y. V., and was mustered out at the close of the war. He was a member of John Stevenson Post G. A. R. The funeral will take place at his late residence on Wednesday at 1 o'clock. He leaves a widow but no children, his only daughter having died several years since.
