Sidney Osborn Officer, 94, of Huntsville died Feb. 12, 2006, at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville. He was born Sept. 30, 1911, in Huntsville to Oscar and Lula Bell Carlock Officer. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Virginia Carroll Officer, on Aug. 1, 1986.
Survivors include two daughters, Geraldine Vinson of Redwood City, Calif., and Robbie Officer of Oakland, Calif.; two stepsons, Sam Paschall of Austin and Wayne Paschall of Springdale; two stepdaughters, Linda Perry of Indianola, Iowa, and Donna Hays of Eagle Rock, Mo.; five grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 31 stepgreat-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville with the Rev. Gary Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in Carlock Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J.D. Hawthorne, Darrell Thomas, Wayne Ledbetter, Chris Paschall, Jeremy Paschall and Justin Franklin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Ledbetter, Kyle Eaton, Eric Hood and Scott Kelly.
