Oldest daughter of Alice Elizabeth Hairston and Edward Swoope Moore of Lowndes County, MS. Wife of Evert Duthil Lyons, Jr.; married Feb. 1, 1911 at Hamilton Hall, her parents' home, in Columbus, MS.
Preceded in death by parents, husband, and brothers Richard, Charles, Peter, and William.

In 1954, she was a force in establishing Thomas Jefferson chapter of the Children of the American Revolution. In March 1956 she organized the Julien Poydras Chapter, NSDAR in Baton Rouge and served as its first regent.
