Funeral services were held for Mrs. Oleta Welch, April 9, in the Fairbanks (Alaska) Memorial. Mrs. Welch died in the Steward Sanitorium following an illness of three years.
Mrs. Welch went to Alaska in November 1948 and worked in the law offices of Jenion Hurley for about a year. She was married June 26, 1949 to Walter Welch, then an announcer at KFRB.
Mrs. Welch was born January 19, 1923 in Cabool and before going to Alaska she made her home in California for six years.
Besides her husband she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Akeman of Cabool; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Bowers of Fairbanks, Alaska and Ruth Akeman of Glendale, Calif.; and two brothers, Doyle Akeman of Burbank, Calif., and Van L. Akeman of North Hollywood, Calif.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Orland R. Cary of the First Baptist church and burial was in the Birch Hill Cemetery.
