Jacob N. Love Takes Own Life
Farmer West Of Warren Hangs Self; Despondent Over Health
Jacob N. Love, 58, who for 20 years had operated a farm of 160 acres six mile west of Warren, committed suicide Wednesday afternoon by hanging himself.
His body, suspended by a rope attached around a rafter, was found by his wife and their son, Fred, when they arrived home about 3:30 from a trip to Marion after visiting another son, Floyd, at that place.
In the watch pocket of the dead man's trousers was found a note which said. "I have been having a lot of trouble with my head and am afraid of a stroke."
The note also requested that Rev. H. G. Rowe of Indianapolis read the funeral service. Rev. Rowe formerly was pastor of the Central Christian church at Warren. The note also listed three songs Love wishes sung at the funeral.
Love was in his usual spirits earlier in the day, members of his family said. He had been dead about two hours when found.
Besides his wife, Rose Hatcher Love, there survive four sons, Frement [sic Fremont] of Van Buren, Charles of Huntington county, Floyd of Marion and Fred at home, and a daughter, Mrs. Nora Shaw, Huntington county.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Jefferson Center church, in charge of Rev. E. M. Church.
