He was born to Steve John Staeden and Mary Frances Staeden on May 8, 1937, in Roswell, NM.
Steve's banking/broker career began in Roswell with First National Bank, then to Roswell State Bank (1st Interstate Bank), and finally with AG Edwards & Sons Inc. He also volunteered assisting individuals with financial matters at Christ Church. Very community minded, he was a member of civic clubs/boards including: Roswell Symphony, South Park Cemetery, Salvation Army, Red Cross, Lions Club and the Full Gospel Business Men's Group. He also MC'd for the Assistance League.
As an old car enthusiast, Steve enjoyed his 1939 Ford, reading, going to the mountains, and especially spending time with the grandchildren.
Preceding Staeden's death are his parents, one brother, Erwin, and a niece.
Those left to carry on his heritage are his wife of 56 years, Theda King Staeden; two sons: Bryan and wife Julie; and Greg, all of Roswell; grandsons: Stephen and Parker of Brookhaven, MS.'
A viewing will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016, 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 16, 2016, 2:00 PM at South Park Cemetery. The Reverends Gerry Chavez and Lonnie Owens will officiate the service.
