Born Sigri Halvorsdatter Valle and baptized 17 Jan 1828 in Rollag, Buskerud, Norway. Sigri emigrated in 1850 with her parents and eventually settled in Clayton Co., Iowa. Sigri used "Sarah" as her name in America. She married Steiner Nelson 26 Sep 1854 in Clayton Co., Iowa and the couple had 6 children: Nels, Vina, Henry, Mathe, Janie and Anna. No records exist to confirm the actual burial location for Sarah, but she is not listed with her husband, and her death record indicates she was buried in Mower County, MN. Since Sarah's grandson (Severan Beney Nelson) was buried in this cemetery 2 years earlier, my best guess is that she was buried here also.
