He was born in Tilghmanton, son of the late John L and Lydia Ann Harigan Bloom. He was the husband of the late Nannie Mongan Bloom.
He had been a farmer for a number of years. His last employment was as a caretaker of the armory in Laurel, Md.
He was a member of the Brethren Church at St James.
He is survived by the following: sons, Charles R, Baltimore; Milton R, Hagerstown; daughters, Mrs. Cecil Poffenberger, Sharpsburg; and Mrs. George Walter, Laurel, Md; sister, Mrs. Bertha Bassford, Washington, DC; 9 grand children and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services Saturday at 2 pm at St James Brethren Church with the Rev Freeman Ankrum officiating. Funeral arrangements made by Leaf Funeral Home, Williamsport.
