Marion – Mary Lee Bratten-Rankin, 88, of Springfield formerly of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 8:15 A.M. at Regency Nursing Care Residence in Springfield.

Mary Lee was born May 26, 1917 in Marion to William R. & Docia O'Neil. She married Delmer Crain, she then later married Gilbert Bratten, he preceded her in death, and then married Harold Rankin, he preceded her in death.

Mary Lee was a beautician. She was a graduate of Marion Township High School in 1936 and VTI Cosmetology College. She was a member of Disciples of Christ Christian Church, Delta Theta Tau Sorority and Crab Orchard Country Club.

Survivors include:
Two Sons – Gilbert L. Bratten and his wife Lila of Springfield
Jon M. Bratten and his wife Laura of Decatur
Five Grandchildren:
Brandy Lane,
Traci Martin
Shanlee Bratten
Kara Bratten
Marissa Bratten
Sister – Roberta Harmon, Cocoa, Florida

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Lynn Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
