Leonard D. Anderson, 63, of Mineral City, Ohio died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 in Wade Park Veterans Hospital in Cleveland following an extended illness.

Born June 26, 1943 in Canton, Ohio, he was the son of the late David and Mary Pearl Flaherty Anderson.

Leonard was a mechanic until illness forced his retirement.

He was a US Army veteran having served in Viet Nam.

He is survived by four sons, Richard Kepoo of Loudonville, Leonard "Dan" Anderson II of Mineral City, Allen Anderson of Seattle, Washington, and Jimmy (Kristy) Anderson of Mineral City; brothers and sisters, Wayne (Betty) Anderson of Sebring, Florida, twin sister, Lucille Espenschied of Centerton, Arkansas, Esther (Vernon) Reames of Searcy, Arkansas, Ruth Menefee Cadle of Dover, Grace (George) Tatro of Mineral City, Olive Russell of Newcomerstown, Gertrude Hockenberry of Massillon, Loretta Hartman of Canton, and Alice Mae Moore of New Philadelphia; along with several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Patterson and Goldie Mizer and three infant brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 15, 2007 at 2pm in the Dover Church of Christ, 230 E. 4th St. in Dover with Randy Chapman officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services.
