ODESSA The Permian Basin mourns the tragic loss of three precious children: Jamie Marie Belis, age 10, her brother Ruben Julius Ramirez, age 8, and their sister Alaina Elvira Belis, age 4.

All three were gathered into the safety of the arms of Jesus after being involved in a horrific car accident on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 on Highway 385 just north of Odessa.

Marie was born March 31, 2002, Ruben on July 24, 2003 and Alaina on July 24, 2007. All were born in Odessa.

Marie was a 5th grader at Seminole Elementary, Ru­ben was a 3rd grader at Seminole Primary School, and Alaina was a preschooler.

Left to cherish their memories are their mother and step-father: Madonna Jamie Amaton and Carlos Amaton of Seminole; brother: James Eric Belis (age 6) of Seminole; grandparents: Renee Salazar and husband Eddie Lara, Joe and Linda Araiza, and Jose Paredes, all of Odessa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 12 Noon at Ramirez Trucking on 3rd and Moss Streets.
Visitation will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 8 am to 9 pm.

Funeral services are set for 10 am Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Life Challenge Church with Pastor Dan Smelser officiating.

Interment will follow at Rose Hill Garden of Ector County Cemetery in Odessa.

Published in Odessa American from June 7 to June 8, 2012 -A two-vehicle wreck happened late Tuesday afternoon in Odessa. The driver of a pickup that struck the rear of the van, which was attempting to make a turn, was not injured.

The children who died as 4-year-old Alaina Elvita Belis, 8-year-old Ruben Julius Belis and 11-year-old Jamie Marie Belis, all from Seminole.
