Dick Eckhoff of Ridott died Saturday evening in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank (Gesina) Krayenborg of Ridott, following an extended illness. Born May 22, 1874, in Ridott Township, Mr. Eckhoff was the son of Peter and Martha (Ammerman) Eckhoff. He lived his entire life in the Ridott He married Rickstina Wieman in 1902. Mr. Eckhoff was a retired farmer and a member of Ridott Christian Reformed Church.
Mr. Eckhoff is survived by a son, Peter of Pecatonica; one daughter, Mrs. Krayenborg; one sister, Miss Mamie Eckhoff of Freeport; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. His wife and one son preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Greenfield-Eichmeier Funeral Home in German Valley and at 2 p.m. in Christian Reformed Church. Rev. Cornelius Abbas, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home this evening.
