Rose Marie Binnion, age 75, of Hempstead, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rosie was born on May 23, 1940, the daughter of Cliff and Marie (Johnson) Garrett. She was raised in Houston. On her birthday, May 23, 1959, she married the love of her life, Roger Binnion.

Rose Marie owned and operated Garrett’s Florist where she was the main floral designer. She also worked as a Sales Consultant for Foley’s, Lenox China and as a Bridal Consultant at Tiffany & Co. She was quite artistic and enjoyed creating beautiful and unique flower arrangements and had a love for painting. Rosie’s special talent was to fashion the most exclusive and intimate weddings for her brides. Her true passion was working with Youth. You would find her at church leading Vacation Bible School, planning youth events and teaching kids about Jesus. Rosie was a teacher, a mentor and made everyone feel special. A few of her most cherished accomplishments included being an officer in the Houstonettes (Sam Houston High School) and forming the Falconettes at Hargrave High School (Huffman, TX). She will be missed by many.

Rose Marie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roger Binnion; son, Lee Binnion; daughter, Rebecca Schultz and husband, Ron (Lincoln, NE); son, Rod Binnion; brother, Silas Garrett (widower of Sandra Garrett); sister, Cindy Jenkins and husband, Mike; sister-in-law Janet Garrett (widow of Bill Garrett); sister-in-law Jackie Garrett (widow of Cliff Garrett, Jr); five granddaughters, Jenni (Johnny), Anna (James), Samantha (Chris), Jessica, Emily Marie (Lincoln, NE) and grandson Eric (Lincoln, NE); numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. Rose Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Marie Garrett and brothers, Bill and Cliff Jr.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 6-8pm at Pine Island Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be Monday, February 15, 2016 at 10:30am at Pine Island Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Dobbs officiating.

Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.

Rosie lived to 75 years, 8 months and 16 days old.
