A.C. SCOBEE 76 YEARS OLD IS DEAD HERE
Former Second Hand Merchant Succumbs at home today
Alexander C. Scobee, 76 years old, died this morning at 9 o'clock at his home, 303 West Pierce Street. Death was attributed to complications of disease resulting from old age.
The body is at the Davis & Wilson Funeral Home where funeral services will probably be held Sunday.
Mr. Scobee was born in Adair County, near Scobee Lake, and lived in the Clay neighborhood before moving to Kirksville over 20 years ago. He was at one time, engaged in the second hand business here.
The aged man made his home with his daughter, Miss Cora Scobee, and a niece, Mrs. Ruth Fox, his wife having preceded him in death several years ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lydia Garwood and Miss Scobee, of Kirksville, and Mrs. Bertha Hughes of Anaconda, Mont.; one brother, Jimmie Scobee, of Longmont, Colo., and a sister, Mrs. Mary Branstetter of Green City.
