Mr. Dobbins, 61, Dies in Athens
ATHENS, Oct. 24 (Special) -- W. Morphis Dobbins, 61-year-old Athens farmer and cattleman, died at 4 p.m. today at his home here. Mr. Dobbins had been residing in Athens all his life.
Funeral services will be held at the Cross Roads Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow with the Rev. B.P. Durbin and the Rev. Pearce Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Tulip Cemetery under direction of the Conger Funeral Home of Arcadia.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Allene Dobbins; two daughters, Mrs. C. D. Cheatham of Springhill and Miss Chloie Dobbins of Athens; three sons, Henderson Dobbins of Haynesville, Drew Dobbins of New Orleans, and Grover Dobbins of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. C. A. Baker of Athens, and Mrs. Joseph Baker and Mrs. Billy Pace of Arcadia.
