Vivian Davis Stephens - May 22, 1936 – Feb. 6, 2016
Vivian Davis Stephens, daughter of Art and Willie (Owens) Davis, died Saturday morning, Feb. 6, 2016, at her home in Katy, Texas.
Vivian was born and raised in Sallisaw, a 1954 graduate of Sallisaw High School. Her life adventures took her to California, Kansas, Louisiana, Germany and Bermuda. She had been a resident of the Houston area since 1970. Vivian was active with Republicans Abroad and served two terms as Chairman of the Bermuda Chapter. She also served two terms as President of the International American Women’s Club of Bermuda. Her other passions included bridge, gourmet cooking, needlepoint and most of all family.
A longtime member of the Tallowood Baptist Church, Vivian is survived by her husband of 62 years, Doyle Stephens of Katy; her children, Kelly Stephens and wife, Karen of Houston and Annette Nielsen and husband, Mark of Fort Worth, Texas; grandsons, Kelly Stephens and wife, Amy, William Stephens and wife, Peyton, Erik Nielsen and Timothy Stephens; and three great-grandsons, Levi, Mason and Sawyer Stephens.
Siblings include Helen Bibb, Linda Dobbs, Owen Davis, Deborah Harris and Mike Davis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother G.W. Davis.
A celebration of Vivian’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston.
