Margie was a life-long Vandalia area resident and a 1940 graduate of Vandalia High School. After high school, Margie worked at the Ely Walker Garment Factory, Bobbi Brooks Garment Factory and International Shoe Company. She then became a full time homemaker and was active in the First Christian Church where she had been a long time member. For many years Margie decorated her home at Christmas with many ornate and decorated Christmas trees all over the house. Margie then opened her home to all visitors that would stop by during both day and night to marvel at all the Christmas decorations.
