Born in Manhattan, NY, she was a gifted artist, the glue that kept the family together and loved animals.
Left to cherish her memory: her husband, Robin van Rijn; parents, Jean and Francis Peterson; sister, Lisa Powell and her children, Jason and Shanna; brothers, Francis Peterson, II and wife Pamela and their children, Francis Peterson, III and Bryan Peterson, and Louis Peterson and his wife Sherry and their children, Ashley and Taylor Peterson; brothers-in-law, Gary and Rhonda Crayton and their son, Gary, Jr., Jerry van Rijn and his wife Susanne, Tom van Rijn and his wife Susie and their children, Marieke and Matt, Rick van Rijn and his wife Kathy and their family; her beloved pets, Shania, Bessie, Noah, Cloe, Shiloh, Kira, Caleb, Malia, Butchie and Sierra and numerous extended family.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel on Thursday, Feb. 11th and Friday, Feb. 12th from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to Animal Rescue No Kill facilities.
