ABELL, Thomas J. 82, of Middletown, died Monday, February 8, 2016, at Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community. He was born in Middletown on November 24, 1933 to parents Clarence and Louise (Sennett) Abell. Tom had worked as a clerk for Armco / AK Steel for 33 years. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Knights of Columbus, the VFW card buddies and he loved dogs. Mr. Abell is survived by his daughters, Lisa Kay (Larry) Foley & Vicky (Bill) Jamison; sister, Linda Gibson; seven grandchildren, Tony, Jillian, Derek, Shannon, Ashley, Adam & Danielle; eleven great grandchildren; as well as many other loving family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan Elaine Duane; brother, Michael Abell; and granddaughter, Diane Duane. Prayer Service will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Father John Civille officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association /Greater Cincinnati Chapter, 644 Linn St.,Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203 - OR - American Heart Association , 5211 Madison Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45227.
