Alva Lee "Unc” Muzzey, 80 of Lexington, entered into rest on Dec. 28, 2015 after his battle with cancer.

Cowboy Service was held at East Lawn Cemetery, Minatare, Dec. 31, 2015 at 2:00 p. m.

Celebration of Life will be held at Kirk’s Truck Stop, Lexington, Jan. 30, 2016 from 2:00 until 6:00 p. m.

He was born on April 3, 1935 in Alliance, to Alva and Mildred Muzzey and was one of 11 children in the family.

Unc loved driving his beloved Peterbilt, old westerns, rodeos, and spending time with his many friends and family members.

Unc spent his adult life driving truck; it was a family affair. Alva, his brother LeRoy, nephews Ray and Terry, drove and worked together on keeping all of the trucks rolling.

Unc is survived by his brothers, LeRoy (Geri) Muzzey of Lexington, Jessie Athey of Sheridan, Wyo.; sister; Nelli Athey of Alliance; his daughters, Laura Northrop of Post Falls Idaho and Deena (Glenn) Berger of Mill Valley Calif.; grandchildren; JJ Northrup, Allie and Colton Berger along with many special nieces and nephews.

Preceding Unc in death were his parents, Alva W. and Mildred Alice Muzzey; sisters, Maxine Taylor, Peg Prelle, Grace Aronson, Ethel Long and Helen Driscoll, brothers, Walter (Pete) Muzzey and Leo Muzzey and son-in-law James Northrup.

Unc wasn’t interested in the pomp and circumstances of life. He was a simple man who worked hard, loved deeply, gave when he knew you needed it and set you straight when you deserved it.

He didn’t mince words. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind and those who knew and loved him can attest to his feisty sense of humor and endless stories of causing a ruckus in his younger years.

Unc never backed down from a challenge. He was a fighter right up until the very end when the Lord called him home.

“I had a great life” he said,” I had a really great life.”

Yes you did Unc, and those of us who had the privilege to know and love you are certainly better because of the life you lived.

God Speed Unc, until we meet again.
