A graduate of John Harris High School and Penn State University, Anna had been a teacher at William Penn High School in Harrisburg and the Newport School District. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing and viewing tennis, golf, and baseball. An avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan, Anna was very proud of her husband Billy Cox, who was the 3rd baseman for The Boys of Summer.
Anna is survived by two daughters: Cindy Schachter of La Quinta, CA and Shawn, wife of Frank Carrozza, III of Lancaster. She had 4 grandchildren: Michele, wife of Julio Padilla of LasVegas, Frank Carrozza, IV of Wilkes-Barre, Christopher Schachter of Santa Monica, CA, and Casey Schachter of La Quinta, CA. In addition she will be missed by 3 great grandchildren: Cristian and Danica Padilla of Las Vegas and Andrew Infante of La Quinta, CA. Anna was preceded in death by her son William R. Cox, Jr. Her companion, Eugene H. Gish of Elizabethtown, also survives Anna.
A viewing will take place from 9-11am followed by the funeral at 11am on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Road, Lancaster, PA. 17601. Internment will be in Newport Cemetery, Newport, PA.
