On June 29, 1958, she was united in marriage to Charles Ivan Boone, and to this union one son and one daughter were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Max Harold Blakeley.
Marie is survived by a son, J. D. Boone, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Eva Hancock, and her husband, Warren, of Anchorage, Alaska; two grandchildren, Miles and Mina Hancock; a brother, Kenneth Sharp, and his wife, Audra, of Falcon, Missouri; a sister, Lillian Marshall, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area, and graduated from Lebanon High School. She later obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education. For several years she taught in area rural schools including, Flag Pond, Blackfoot, Possum Trot, and Bolles. For fifteen years, she made her home in Kansas City where she lovingly raised her children. In 1970, she returned to Lebanon and taught school at Stoutland, Joel E. Barber, and at Waynesville East Elementary, before retiring.
Marie made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Lebanon. She was especially active in the Second Milers Group for a number of years.
In her spare time she liked painting, sewing, and growing beautiful flowers, which she enjoyed sharing with others. Her family was very important to her and she always put them first in her life.
Marie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2007, in the Second Baptist Church, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 - 5:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to the American Cancer Society may be made through the funeral home.
