Dorothy L. (Lauer) Ware, 78, Martinsville, passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Waters of Martinsville.
She was born on Sunday, December 26, 1937 in Tell City, Indiana, to the late Clarence and Helen (Merriman) Lauer.
Dorothy had been an office administrator at the Kennedy Living Center in Martinsville. She was a member of the Olive Christian Church and the Red Hat's Society. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and keeping long time relationships with her friends.
Surviving are her children, George Ware of Martinsville, Alan Ware of Clayton, Julie Plumb of Manassas, Virginia, and Penny Gruener of Gosport; siblings, Charles Lauer of Gainesville, Texas, and Dianna Gray of Riverview, Florida; grandchildren, Lindsey Plumb, Katie Plumb, Alyson Plumb, Terrance Ware, Michael Ware, Courtney Beason and Madelyn Gruener; three great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Allen C. Ware, whom she married on July 9, 1955 and he passed away on June 8, 2008, and granddaughter, Jennifer Kingsbury.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Staurday, February 13, 2016 at the Olive Christian Church, 1967 North Olive Church Road, Martinsville, Indiana, with Rev. Keenan Steinway officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
