Mrs. Cox, a lifelong resident of Plain Dealing, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2001 after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Plain Dealing Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Henry L. Cox, a son, Jimmy "Cowboy" Cox, and a brother, John H. Goodman.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Cox and his wife Mattie of Plain Dealing, LA.; a daughter, Janet Cox McDermott and her husband John of Rancho Viejo, TX; three brothers, C. W. Goodman of Benton, LA, Frank B. Goodman of Plain Dealing, LA, and R. C. "Bud" Goodman of Lafayette, LA; four grandchildren, Jeb Swain, Jamie Cox Smith, John Shannon McDermott, Mem McDermott McCutchan; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua Henry Swain, Bruen Elizabeth Swain, Drew Smith, and Sam Smith.
