Clyde Bumgarner, Jr., 82, of Genoa died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his home.

He was born October 1, 1933 in Iuka, IL. to Clyde and Pearl (Sutherland) Bumgarner, Sr. He married Virginia Sheppard in 1956 in Pine Bluff, NC. Clyde was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1954-56.

He worked construction and was a diesel mechanic for Teamster Local 330 for many years. He loved to go fishing and spend time with his family.

Survivors include his 6 children and their spouses; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 4 brothers his sister-in-law; and 2 brothers-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2011; his grandson, Douglass; 3 brothers; and one sister-in-law.

His visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa.

His funeral service will be on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home, with Rev. James Freund officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
