He was Quartermaster to Kemper, Pickett and Terry. After the War he taught school. He also was a merchant, farmer and judge. He was married to Cordelia F. Weaver. Their children were John B., William N., Bascum, Mary Lee, Robert E., Minnie D., Sallie E. and Clyde M.
