Turner, Vesta Napier - born March 24, 1918 in Lee County, Virginia, passed away Monday, March 14, 2005 at Baptist Hospital. She was a current member of Smithwood Baptist Church and former member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville. Preceded in death by: husband, Oscar Turner of Harlan, Kentucky. She is survived by: her son, Clark Turner and daughter-in-law, Tommie Turner of Harlan, Kentucky daughter, Sandra Lou Hope and son-in-law, Dan Hope of Knoxville sisters, Elsie Lucas and Artha Parton grandchildren, Glenda Turner Simpson, Junior Turner and Rickie Turner 9 great-grandchildren several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We would like to acknowledge her niece, Shirley Zapata of Hamilton, Ohio for her concern and kindness during Vesta's lengthy illness. Funeral service will be held 1 pm on Friday, Berry Chapel, with Rev. Dave Ward conducting the service. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm on Friday prior to the service in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. www.berryfuneralhome.com.
