An active member of the LDS Church, Joy served a mission to Uruguay, as well as fulfilling numerous callings.
Joy enjoyed working as a maternity nurse at McKay-Dee Hospital, a home-care nurse for new Spanish-speaking mothers, and a Hospice nurse. She gave much to many. In addition to nursing, Joy had a keen interest in politics, and organized caucus meetings as well as serving as a convention delegate.
At the time of her passing, Joy was survived by her husband, Michael, six children, and fourteen grandchildren, as well as four sisters and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald Oscar and Caroline Naomi Topham Belliston.
