Charles Dean “Chuck” Rea, 76 of Monticello passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born July 19, 1939 to the late Willis Wilburn Rea and Sylvia Robertson Rea.

He was retired from McGehee Police Department, was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and of the Baptist faith. He loved fixing things and was a CB Radio repairman. He loved playing the guitar, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and nature. He was a loving husband, father and pop. He studied and read the Bible faithfully.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Fran Proffitt Rea of Monticello; two sons, Charles Brandon Rea of Monticello and Troy Rea of TX; three daughters, Leigh Ann Jollie and Andy of Tacoma, WA, Bonnie Denise Hoover and Tim of Monticello and Lavonne Lesley and husband Gerald; two sisters, Patsy Burke of Hope, Phylis Williams of Benton; grandchildren, Mattie, Emma, Lacey, Gracie, and Caden; several nieces, nephews and other relative and friends; three special friends Jimmy Singleton, Al Barajas and George Strain.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with Rev. Steve Fleming officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
