A funeral service celebrating the life of Shirley C. Gustafson, 85, New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2796 Charlestown Road, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, surrounded by her family.
She was the former Shirley Cunningham, born in Franklin, Pa., and was a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a retired dietician having formerly served as the Food Services Director for the New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation. Shirley was also a member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority and Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband, Donald A. Gustafson; a son, Steven A. Gustafson; a daughter, Karen G. Huckabone and her husband, Thomas; a brother, William P. Cunningham and his wife, Darla; and two granddaughters, Kara Lynn and Emily Ann Huckabone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lucille Cunningham.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 Friday at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church.
