Mrs. Nora Deaton, 91, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2004, at 12:32 a.m. at her residence.
She was born on June 29, 1912, in Altro, [Breathitt County], Ky., and had lived in the Middletown area since 1934. Mrs. Deaton was a homemaker. She was a member of the Stratford Heights Church of God, Salvation Army Ladies Home League, and the Middletown Senior Citizens Bowling League until she was 89 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Deaton; a daughter, Betty J. Crase; a son, Edward Deaton; brothers James, Charles, Edward, Francis, and Jack Deaton; and sisters Sue Thompson, Ida Byrd, and Shannie Evans.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Ruth H.) Deaton of Sun City, Ariz.; daughters Gerry Gunderson of Trenton, Ohio, and Linda Webb of Middletown, Ohio; a sister, Jessie Spicer of Middletown; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at the Stratford Heights Church of God, 4419 Nelson Road, Middletown, with Pastor Walter D. Watkins, officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
