Faye Annette Whetzel Miller of Manassas died on February 1, 2016 in Arlington, VA following a lengthy illness. She was born in Nokesville, Prince William County, Virginia on February 27, 1939, the only child and daughter of Frederick Sylvester Whetzel and Elizabeth Alberta Collins Whetzel.

Faye grew up and attended public schools in Nokesville and was an honor graduate of Nokesville High School. She married Larry Carver Miller, son of Hilbert Lee Miller & Hazel Elizabeth Wines Miller of Front Royal, VA on 5 Apr 1969 at St. Thomas United Methodist Church in Manassas. She always enjoyed her work and the many friends she made while working in the surrounding area which included the Health Department in DC, the Journal Messenger in Manassas, ConTel which became Verizon by the time she retired, and Birmingham Green nursing home among others.

Faye was an active member of Buckhall United Methodist Church in Manassas until illness slowed her down. She loved crocheting and sharing her many beautiful, colorful afghans with family and friends. Faye was very gifted, talented, generous, and loving. She never tired of contributing her gifts to others.

She spent most of her life in Prince William County, VA in the Nokesville, Manassas, and Manassas Park areas except for a few years following her husband's death when she moved to Massanutten Manor in Strasburg, Shenandoah County, VA where she enjoyed the companionship of many new friends. Later she moved back to Manassas to be close to her family, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, dear friends, extended family, and to be close to her church and church family. She wanted to enjoy her remaining years and days in their company and in the company of the many new friends she made at the beautiful, palatial Marywood Apartments on Crestwood Drive in Manassas.

Faye was predeceased by both her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her only child and daughter, Sharon Compton and her husband Dale who were so kind and supportive during her extended illness. Faye was extremely proud of her 3 beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Dodson (Seth) of Woodbury, Minnesota, Andrew Hazlett (Melanie) of Manassas, and Daniel Hazlett (Jessica) of San Antonio, TX. Faye was always especially proud of her 2 great-grandchildren Nathan and Xan Hazlett. Also left to cherish her memory is a special friend, June Rich in addition to many other cherished friends and extended family.

A memorial service is planned for a later date.
