Mary Pauline Alkire, 87, of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016.

She was born in Weston to the late Owen and Agnes Quinn on Sept. 2, 1928.

Pauline was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of South Charleston for over 60 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alkire; granddaughter, Christina Fisher; two brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelia Kerns and husband, Richard, of Cross Lanes; grandsons, John Sigmon and wife, Misti, of St. Albans, Michael Sigmon and wife, Lori, of Dundee, Florida, Rick Kerns and wife, Danielle, of Gandeeville; 14 great grandchildren including Timothy Fisher; and one great-great grandson, Caleb.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, South Charleston with Father John Finnell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Jane Lew.

Friends may call one our prior to the service at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
