“Edward D. Bevelle, well known resident of the city, died suddenly at his home on South Walnut Street shortly before 5:30 o’clock Monday afternoon.

Although Mr. Bevelle had been in failing health for some time, his sudden death was a shock to his wife and neighbors. He had been working during the day and was in his barnyard when he was taken ill. He was assisted to the house by his wife, where he died before a physician arrived. Heart disease was given as the cause of his death.

Mr. Bevelle had lived in Chillicothe practically his entire life. He was born in Livingston county on Feb. 2, 1865 and married on February 28, 1892 to Miss Cora Pansler. To this union two sons were born, William and Guy Harold Bevelle, who preceded their father in death. Mr. Bevelle was a member of the Elm Street Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife and the following brothers and sisters, Walter Bevelle and Mrs. Elizabeth Ewing of this city; Mrs. Fannie Cooper and Ben Bevelle of Kansas City; and George and Sam Bevelle, who reside in Colorado. A nephew, William, who made his home with Mr. Bevelle, also survives.

Funeral services will be held from the Elm Street Methodist Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by Rev. Frank J. Maple of Jamesport, assisted by Rev. Fred P. Hanes, pastor. Interment in Edgewood.” The Chillicothe Constitution, March 3, 1925
