He was unconscious when he was found in his garage and died Saturday afternoon. He had previously been in good health. He was a native of near Bolivar and entered the garage business approximately 21 years ago with the Model Garage. About 15 years go he purchased his residence and build a garage and machine shop in the rear, which he operated.
He was a son of the late George and Annie Slifer, near Middletown.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary May Slifer; and the following children: Mrs. Amos A. Holter, Frederick; Charles l. Slifer, Washington; L. Merhl, G. Gerald and Elaine Slifer, all at home.
He was a member of Christ Reformed church, Middletown.
Services were held at the late home; interment in the Reformed Cemetery, Middletown; arrangements by the Gladhill Company Funeral Home, Middletown.
