Lena Corbin Pendleton, 86, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 26, 1929 in Clark County, the daughter of the late Oscar H. and Violet M. (Glass) Leonard.
She served as a foster care parent many years of her life. Lena loved animals, working with flowers, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her daughters: Myra Kay Lynch and Rebecca L. (William) Reed all of Springfield; one son, Judson Lee (Debbie) Corbin of Florida, seven grandchildren: Dana M. (Tracey) Preston, Steven P. (Jamie) Lynch, Tara R. Reed, William R. Reed Jr., Bradley J. Reed, Jessica L. Corbin, and Melissa Corbin; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lee M. Corbin, her second husband, Cecil P. Pendleton, infant son, James Alan Corbin, three sisters: Anna Jenkins, Mildred Wise, and Dorothy Krietzer; and lifetime friend, Edith Robinson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 12-2:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Graveside services will follow the visitation at Vale Cemetery.
