Mildred W. Thompkins, age 95 of Conyers, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. She was born in Badin, NC on January 20, 1921 to John Howard Watson and Ailene Jones Watson, both of whom preceded her in death.

Mildred's interests included bridge, painting, reading, sewing, crossword puzzles and serving in numerous capacities at Heritage Hills Baptist Church where she has been a member since 1987. She was employed by Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company as the office manager for 25 years.

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Thompkins; son, John Howard Stinson and brother, Howard 'Buck' Watson. Her surviving family includes four children: Bob Thompkins; Barbara Thompkins Gailey and husband, Tony; Jeff Thompkins and wife, Brenda; Tommy Thompkins and wife, Rebecca; and Angela Stinson, daughter-in-law; grandchildren, Dana Stinson Cumby, Shawn Stinson, Christian Stinson, Christy Thompkins Freeland, Katie Thompkins, Ryan Coxwell, Krissa Gailey Parmley, Tim Gailey, Jenay Green, Jessie Lane; 16 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 6 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel in Conyers.
