1894:
Twenty-one-year-old Rosina's adventures are closer to home. Often known now as Rosi, she's now working as a kitchen maid for the famous Zeppelin family of Friedrichshafen, on the German side of Lake Constance. She's getting a fascinating inside look at the family responsible for the development of the dirigible as a means of regional and transatlantic transportation.
From Bern to Berne by George D. McClain:
1915 and Thereafter:
Lydia might well have been born in America, for Rosi and Peter Geiser continued to think about emigrating to America.
But just and they are deciding to do so, World War I breaks out, transatlantic travel is interrupted, and these dreams are forever shelved.
Soon after the war, in 1921, Rosi dies of cancer and (her sister) Mathilde experiences a final separation - at least in this life - from her special sister.
