Grandma Gunter Dead

Hartford Times: Mrs. Sarah Gunter, one of Hartford's oldest and most highly respected citizens, died at the home of her son, S. P. Gunter, at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday morning. She had been in her usual health until last Friday when she was taken sick and gradually grew worse until death claimed her. We extend to the bereaved children and relatives our deepest sympathy in this sad hour.

To this union three children were born, Mrs. Nancy Spencer, Augustus and S.P. Gunter. Mrs. Spencer and Augustus Gunter died several years ago. Besides her son she is survived by an aged brother, two sisters, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. For the past year of more she has made her home with her son.

Mrs. Gunter untied with the Christian church in this place 30 years ago and was a faithful member, attending services as long as he was able to hear. She was a good mother, a kind and obliging neighbor and a genial companion to her associates. Her life was one of unselfishness and filled with good deeds, and many there are who have lost a true friend. A noble woman has passed to her rewards.
