Found in The State 08 February 1980: Mrs. Sophie Katherine Koopman Duckett, 77, widow of Charles Rouse Duckett, registered nurse, of 1210 Carter St., died Thursday at Providence Hospital. She was born in Charleston, a daughter of the late John Jacob and Eva Irene Welch Koopman. Mrs. Duckett was a retired supervisor of nursing at Providence Hospital. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. She was twice married, first to the late George W. Neely. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Eva Jenkins of Columbia; a son, George W. Neely Jr. of Columbia; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Basinett of Columbia; a brother, John Jacob Koopman of Wheeling, W. Va.; and seven grandchildren.
