Cata, Ceferino J., M.D., age 89, of Centerville, passed away Friday January 29, 2016. Dr. Cata was a member of St. Charles of Borromeo parish and The Agrupacion Catolica Universitaria. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Margarita M. Cata, M.D. and Maria E. Cata. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maria Elena Cata; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ceferino Cata, Jr., M.D. and his wife Anne, and Carlos Cata and his wife Cynthia; six grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Andrew, Elena, Ian and Nathan; two sisters, Teresa Gil and her husband Eduardo, and Ecilda Cata; and nieces and nephews. He served the residents of the Miami Valley by serving as a geriatric psychiatrist at Dayton Mental Health Center for over 30 years and was the medical director of Stillwater Health Center, where he cared for severely disabled and handicapped children. He was a man devoted to peace, compassion and a life of prayer and service. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4:30pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Relief Services ( PO Box 17090 Baltimore, MD. 21297)or to The Agrupacion Catolica Universitaria ( 720 NE 27th St. Miami, FL 33137)
