Curtis Lee Biddix, age 84, of the Busick Community, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 29th, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Lonnie and Tessie Williams Biddix. He was also preceded in death by sisters: Evia Denny, Ruth Dale and infant sister, Beverly Biddix and brothers: Cecil, Dayton and Jack Biddix. Curtis was a US Army Veteran having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He attended Mt. Mitchell Baptist Church and worked at Collins and Aikmen for 28 years. He loved fishing, camping, pulling galax and digging ginseng.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Autrey Biddix; daughters: Annette Huskins and husband, Jerry, of Penland and Sherry Huskins and husband, Terry, of Seven Mile Ridge; grandchildren: Jeremy Huskins, Kim Ballew and husband, Travis, Cody Huskins and wife, Cassie and Christina Hughes and husband, Patrick; great-grandchildren: Savannah Ballew, Gracie Ballew, Colton Huskins, Haley Huskins and Chloe Hughes; sisters: Ida Deyton and husband, Budge and Doris Buchanan and husband, Charlie, all of White Oak; sisters-in-law: Cartha Biddix and Evelyn Biddix and a brother-in-law, Carl Denny. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 31st in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Forrest Westall will officiate. Burial will follow in the Patton Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter #57 D.A.V. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
